Floats in IE

Don’t work.

Surprise, Surprise.

These guys ran into it 2 years ago but their solution involved removing the floats.

This page explains well what is going on. Apparently it’s not a bug that’s causing this but a deliberate decision by Microsoft to display pages like this.

Seeing as floats have been a part of CSS since before IE 4, you’d think they would realize the problem and fix it? Nope. They like to make everyone in the world suffer and try to create hacks to display things properly.

The problem is partially fixed in IE 8 beta 1 and completely in beta 2 but why did it take so long?

Looks like this is the only thing that works in IE 8.  No other positioning does……everyone excercising their compatiblity view option on EVERY SITE?
